PPB had announced that it would be providing sports betting services to Meadowlands a few days earlier, but while Monmouth and Borgata would be able to offer sports betting immediately, Meadowlands needed to wait for the Merger with PPB to be finalized. Soon after, Monmouth Park and the Borgata Casino started taking wagers. New Jersey officially legalized sports betting on the 11 th of June. PPB announced a merger with FanDuel, which would allow them to operate with a brand that was known by the American public. Once the Supreme Court overturned the federal ban on sports betting, PPB made it very clear that they wanted to operate in the US market. With the opening of the land-based sportsbook, FanDuel has made the transition from a Daily Fantasy Sports site to actual sports betting.
